Coral Bay on the north west of the island is extremely popular with travellers from Europe. The quality of sand is far more superior in the Pasir Bogak Beach as compared to elsewhere on the island. The sand is golden brown, quite similar to most leading prime beaches.
This is the most popular seaside resort of Pangkor. It has been described as the biggest swimming pool in the world. The water is shallow and crystal clear, offering endless hours of fun and frolic in the sunkissed sea along the vast coral reef. It is accessible by road from Pangkor Town. The 2 km crescent shaped beach offers a host of facilities such as sailing, fishing, snorkelling and wind surfing (available at Sea View and Beach Hotels) making Pasir Bogak Beach a more popular recreation spot for the local population. Thronging the beach are open-air stalls offering local delicacies such as barbecued squid, satay and fish crisps. Accommodation is easily available, ranging from luxury hotels, chalets to the more spartan comforts of attap huts and camping sites. This is a generally busy part of the island, where you can find a lot of chalets, campsites, motels, hotels and also resorts for holiday makers. During the holiday season, Pasir Bogak is really famous among the tourists. Many tourists will throng the beach at Pasir Bogak for good fun at the beach and also for some fresh seafood.
For those who want some peace and quiet and the beach all to themselves, they can head over to Teluk Dalam. The beache is privately owned and are away from the busy touristy sites. At Teluk Dalam, visitors can stay in the Kampung House concept resort at the Teluk Dalam Resort.
This beautiful beach paradise was named Pantai Puteri Dewi (literally, Beach of the Lovely Princess). This beach offers a stretch of fine white sand and shimmering blue seas on the fringes of lush green tropical forest.Pan Pacific resort Pangkor (Tel: 05-6851091 ) along this stretch of beach offers elegant accommodation with 240 rooms, convention rooms, and facilities for snorkeling. Embark on a sunset cruise, go on a fishing trip or just swim in the cool clear waters - whatever you choose to do, the magical allure of Pangkor will ensure that this is one holiday you will never forget. Named after a legendary lovelorn princess, Golden Sands Beach, or Pantai Puteri Dewi, is one of the most popular beaches on the island. Located on the north-west of Pangkor, this 1.2 km stretch boasts warm turquoise water fringed with tall swaying coconut palms.
Teluk Ketapang is sandwiched between the two more well known beaches of Pasir Bogak and Nipah Bay. There's no place to stay at Teluk Ketapang but believe me, the beach is very nice. A large green grass field lies next to the main road and separates the sand beach from the road. It's a great place for a swim and a view on the Straits of Malacca. There may be some boatsmen hanging around the pier and if you interested, they will give you a tour around the island. Of all the Pangkor beaches, this one is the most underrated. Give it a try. Even in school holidays this beach is mostly empty.
